Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is it possible to pick up our items rather than have them posted?
Yes. Simply add items to your cart using the Herp Asylums' shopping cart buying system. Once you have finished selecting the products that you wish to purchase, proceed to the Check Out page. In the section, under select a payment method, choose cash on pick up. Complete the rest of your details and hit submit. When we receive your order, we will contact you via email (unless specified otherwise) and arrange a convenient time for you to pick up your goods.


2) Do you ship products internationally?
At this stage no. However, it is a possibility for the future.


3) What payment methods do you accept?
At this stage, we accept direct deposit, postal money orders, cheques and cash on pick up.


4) Do you plan on implementing a system where we can pay for products with a credit card or via Pay Pal?
In the future, yes.


5)What is your policy on refund/exchange on products that are faulty?
Generally we allow for a 7 day cooling off period - starting from the day the product is received by the customer. Although under certain circumstances this time frame may be less or more. The Herp Asylum reserves the right to judge each claim individually. Refund or exchange will be granted at our discretion based on the merits of each individual claim.


6) How is freight calculated?
Under normal circumstances we use Australia Post - Parcel Post. The price of this is first calculated by weight and then size of the total packaged item:

Weight of your item + Weight of the box it is sent in and any protective packaging = Total weight.

For large orders, the total dimensions of the packaged box may also have an impact on the cost of freight.

Once the total weight of your order has been determined, the distance factor is then considered. Obviously, the closer you are to where the item is being sent from, the cheaper the cost of freight will be for you. 7) We have heard that all South Coast Herp Society members are entitled to a 10% discount, is this true?
It sure is! Any current member of The South Coast Herp Society is entitled to a 10% discount on our entire product range. Of course proof is necessary - so any member wishing to take advantage of this discount need only provide us with their membership number as validation. Once satisfied, 10% will be deducted from the total value of your order, before freight (if applicable).
